This is a 200cm steel tripod, powder coated, with legs that fold in half so it packs away at the end of the season. It'll stand steady on ground that's nowhere near level, which is most gardens.
The grate hangs from a galvanised chain over a fire bowl or an open fire, and you raise or lower the whole cooking surface as the fire changes underneath it.
This one has a winch. A ratchet welded to one leg holds the grate at whatever height you set it, and you adjust it with one hand while the other one's holding the tongs. If you cook for more than four people, it's worth the extra.
The grate is 4mm stainless steel, so it doesn't need seasoning and it won't rust. It costs more than natural steel, and it'll look the same in five years as it does today.
