The Vento is the stove with a real oven in it. Above the firebox sits a baking chamber lined with fireclay, with a thermometer in the door and three rack heights inside, so you move the food away from the heat rather than trying to turn the fire down. Bread, pizza, fish, a shoulder of pork: it does the lot.

Underneath, it's the same thinking as the rest of the range. A welded steel firebox with a chimney, a sliding ash pan and log storage built in, so the evening's wood is dry and where you need it. Because the fire's enclosed, the heat comes forward at you, the sparks stay in, and the smoke leaves above head height.

It's the most serious piece of kit we sell, and the one our customers cook on all year round.
