The Montana X is a fire bowl with a cooking rig built on. A mast drops into a socket on the leg and carries a 50cm grate that swings through 160 degrees, so you move the food away from the fire when it needs feeding, rather than the other way round. A ratchet in the handle locks the grate at whatever height you set it. The legs take up to three masts, so you can run a grate, a griddle and a pan at the same time.
It's made from 2mm raw steel and welded throughout, like everything else in the range. It's unpainted. Raw steel will go rusty when it lives outside, so it'll go orange in the first few weeks and then settle into a dark brown that stays there. It looks better like this, and there's nothing on the surface to burn off into your food.
A 60cm bowl will seat four people comfortably. At 24kg it's heavy enough that you'll want to pick its spot and leave it there.
